Alagna

The Italian resort of Alagna is part of the Monterosa ski region and has a reputation for having some of Europe's best wilderness skiing which has attracted the more hard-core freeskiing element.

Recent investment in new lift systems has opened up the skiing but the slopes are still generally deserted and the resort has maintained its distinctive Italian feel. With lifts taking you up to 3700m, the runs are some of the biggest in Europe. There are also some great heli-skiing opportunities. These are adventurous off-piste weeks for advanced skiers only.

With lifts taking you up to 3700m, the runs are some of the biggest in Europe. There are also some great heli-skiing opportunities. The off-piste skiing is awesome with great runs from the top of all the lifts and the slopes are usually completely deserted. The highest lifts give you 2000m vertical.

The whole area has a wonderfully genuine Italian atmosphere with a friendly local ambience and stunning scenery.

It is accessed from three charming alpine villages; Alagna, Champoluc and Gressoney, which are all linked by 200 km of pistes.
